1. Planning & Preparation

    •    Color and Product Selection: Choose paint type (e.g., latex or oil-based), finish (e.g., matte, eggshell, satin), and color.

    •    Room Assessment: Identify surfaces to be painted and any damage that needs repair. 

2. Protecting the Area

    •    Move Furniture: Relocate or cover furniture with plastic or drop cloths.

    •    Cover Floors: Use drop cloths or plastic to protect flooring.

    •    Masking: Tape off edges, 

3. Surface Preparation

    •    Cleaning: Wipe walls to remove dust, grease, or mildew.

    •    Repairs: Fill holes, cracks, and dents with spackle or joint compound.

    •    Sanding: Smooth patched areas and scuff glossy surfaces for better adhesion.

    •    Priming: Apply primer where needed (e.g., bare drywall, repaired areas, stains, or drastic color changes).

4. Painting

    •    Cutting In: Paint edges and corners with a brush.

    •    Rolling: Use a roller for large, flat surfaces. Apply in a “W” or “M” pattern for even coverage.

    •    Second Coat: Apply a second coat after the first dries (if needed).

5. Clean-Up

    •    Remove Tape: Pull off painter’s tape before the paint fully cures to avoid peeling.

    •    Clean Tools: Wash brushes, rollers, and trays (or dispose if single-use).

    •    Final Touch-Ups: Check for missed spots or drips and touch up.

6. Curing & Reassembling

    •    Drying Time: Allow sufficient drying/curing time per manufacturer’s instructions.

    •    Reassemble Room: Move furniture back, reinstall hardware or fixtures
